It's been a family affair since the beginning

The roots of Catoctin Woodworks go back about 50 years ago when I used to scrounge around in my dad's wood scraps to make some building blocks or a boat to float down the local creek.
Fast forward about 10 years when I went to work for my brother building custom, job site cabinets and interior trim. Not prefab, box store stuff. These were made on site to fit a wall or floor or doorway. This included doors, windows, molding, cabinets, mantels, etc.
I "graduated" to work on framing homes, again on site, the old stick method. Nothing prefab offsite. Cold and heat were not my friends but it got me through college.
I asked my son what he wanted for Christmas one year and he said he would like a cutting board like the one I had made for his grandmother 40 years earlier. And now several years later here we are.
So Catoctin Woodworks began. Again. From dad and son. To brother and brother. To dad and son. My passion for this has been around for years. Now I get to do it for the love of creating something.
